Below is a wonderful example of the aesthetic assimilation of both Egypt and Greece after the rise of the Ptolemies*. The figures are rounded and more "fleshed out" than the traditional Egyptian styles. More sculptural than informational.
*The first Ptolemy Soter [saviour] 304-284 bce was one of Alexander the Greats generals. After Alexanders death his empire was divided among his generals. Becoming Pharaoh Ptolemy established a line of succession that ended only upon the death of his last Macedonian/Greek heir...The Great, the miss represented, the wife of Julius Caesar and Marc Antony! Oh and the mother of their children including the doomed Caesarian...CLEOPATRA!
